NBPC TO REOPEN 4th JULY

After lengthy delays and negotiations between NSWAPSA, NSW Department of Sport and NSW Health the Nelson Bay Pistol Club (NBPC) is pleased to advise that it will reopen on Saturday 4 July 2020 but with Members having to follow the NSW Health Covid-19 Health Rules. The Regulations, Rules and NBPC procedures are set out below:

The Regulations, Rules and NBPC procedures represent the NSW Health Covid-19 Public Health Order Regulations dated 29 May 2020. However, NSWAPA have been advised by NSW Health that these may change before or after our resumption on 4 July 2020. If there are changes, we will review them and if necessary, make adjustments to the Rules etc below.

General Rules

1.1.     Members must not return to shooting or visit the Club Complex if in the last 14 days you have been unwell or had close contact with a known or suspected case of COVID-19.

1.2.     Friends and visitors must remain in their vehicles when they are dropping off and picking up a Member at the Club.

1.3.     Do not come to the Club Complex if you have any cold or flu like symptoms (cough, sore throat, fever, sneezing, shortness of breath etc).

1.4.     At all times maintain social distancing of at least 1.5 metres any time you are on the Club Complex property.

1.5.     Wash your hands regularly with either hand sanitiser or soap and water when you are at the Club.

  1. On Ranges 1, 2, 3 and 4 Rules

2.1.     In Ranges 2 and 3 – No more than five (5) athletes participating in the Discipline and one (1) Range Officer.

2.2.     In Range 4 – No more than four (4) athletes participating in the Discipline and one (1) Range Officer.

2.3.     In Range 1 – No more than five (5) athletes authorised to participate in the Discipline and one (1) Range Officer.

2.4.     You must maintain the 1.5m rules of social distancing at all times in these Ranges.

2.5.     For Static Matches (eg Shooting within a bay), every 2nd bay in Ranges 2, 3 and 4 to be used.

2.6.     Athletes are to arrive and proceed directly to the respective Range no earlier than 15 minutes before the shooting starting time and no later than ten minutes before the shooting starting time. When you have finished shooting you must vacate the Range and not remain in the hall way.  Social gathering of Members in the Club Room and Office must be in accordance with NSW Health Regulations as amended from time to time.

2.7.     No coaching, training, assisting with malfunctions of other Member’s pistols as it breaches the 1.5 metre social distancing Rule. In the event that the Range Officer (RO) decides that it is an Occupational Health and Safety matter with a firearm, the RO may take reasonable action to resolve the problem.

2.8.     P650 Safety Training Courses will not be conducted while the 1.5 metre social distancing Rules are in place.

2.9.     No mixing of members (including coaches, Range Officers) between separate groups, Ranges 1, 2, 3 and 4.

2.10.  Gathering as a group before or after sport is not possible.

2.11.  Spectators or people providing transport should remain in their vehicle or leave the venue when possible.

2.12.  You must not travel between other Clubs to shoot; you can only shoot on your home range which is NBPC.

2.13.  No sharing of any equipment, including pens.

2.14.  Toilets may be available for use.

2.15.  Avoid unnecessary contact such as shaking hands, high fives etc as these are in breach of the 1.5 metre social distancing Rule.

2.16.  All Club equipment that you use must be wiped clean before and after use by the Member using it.

  1. Shooting Discipline Shifts 10am and 11am

3.1.     There will be two (2) Shooting time Shifts,

3.2.     the first will commence at 10am and finish at 10.55am and priority will be given to Probationary Pistol Licenced Members who have not met the six (6) months qualifying period to purchase their own pistol. The allocation of pistols is on the basis of first in first served. This decision was made as they do not have their own pistol.

3.3.     the second will commence at 11am and conclude at or around 12 noon.

3.4.     Members wishing to shoot on days outside of the usual Club Hours which are on the mornings of Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays may use the Ranges in accordance with the Club Rules and with the adherence to Covid – 19 Rules in this Document.

 What Members need to bring to shoot

4.1.     Bring your own hand wash or sanitiser to wash/sanitise your hands before and after shoot.

4.2.     Bring your own pen to sign in the Attendance Book.

4.3.     Bring your own shooting table carpet or mat to cover the table to rest your firearm on it. The Club will cover unsealed tables with plastic as all tables must be wiped down with sanitiser by the user before and after use. The Club will provide the sanitiser for this.

4.4.     Bring your own drink bottle, towel etc.

4.5.     Members using Club pistols must wipe them down after use with a sanitising product provided by the Club before they are stored. Instruction will be provided by the Club on the correct way to do this cleaning.

NSW Health, Department of Sport and NSWAPA recommend that All Members be strongly encouraged to download the Government’s CovidSafe app.
